How to Make a DIY Dollar Tree Ghost Pumpkin
Step 1: Build the Base for the Halloween Ghost Pumpkin
o create the shape of your ghost pumpkin, start with a Dollar Tree foam pumpkin and a hot glue gun.
- Add a generous amount of hot glue to the top center of the orange pumpkin.
- Carefully press the Styrofoam ball onto the glue and hold it in place for a few seconds until it’s secure.
- This forms the “head” of your ghost pumpkin and gives it that cute, rounded ghost shape.
This step sets the foundation for the fabric drape and face details you’ll add next.

Attach the Styrofoam ball to the foam pumpkin to create the ghost head.
Step 2: Create the Ghost Shape for Your Pumpkin
Take a piece of white fabric or a small white towel.
Drape the fabric directly over the Styrofoam ball so it flows down over the orange pumpkin. Adjust the folds until it looks like a classic Halloween ghost — soft, rounded, and spooky‑cute. Trim the fabric or double the towel if you want a shorter or fuller ghost shape.
This step gives your Dollar Tree ghost pumpkin its signature ghost silhouette.

Drape the white fabric to form the ghost shape.
Step 3: How to Make the Ghost Face for Your Halloween Ghost Pumpkin
Now it’s time to bring your little ghost to life! Grab your craft foam and a pair of scissors.
Cut out two black ovals for the eyes and a small curved smile for the ghost’s face. Use craft glue to attach the pieces directly onto the white fabric. Press gently so they stick in place.
This simple step gives your Dollar Tree ghost pumpkin its spooky‑cute personality.

Add the ghost face.
Step 4: Make the Jack-o-Lantern Pumpkin Face!
Cut out traditional JACK‑O‑LANTERN face shapes — two triangle eyes and a toothy smile — from YELLOW CRAFT FOAM.
Glue the pieces onto the bottom part of the ORANGE FOAM PUMPKIN (the section not covered by the ghost fabric). This gives your Dollar Tree Ghost Pumpkin its classic Halloween Jack‑o‑Lantern look.

Add the Jack‑O‑Lantern face
Step 5: Add Fall Leaves or Straw (Optional)
Place your ghost pumpkin on a bed of faux fall leaves or straw for a festive autumn touch. It adds color, texture, and makes your display for an instant fall touch.
