Step 1: Elevate a Basic Bag with Custom Decor
You don’t need to spend a fortune on boutique gift bags to get a high-end look. For this project, I started with a very simple, affordable red gift bag. To give it that custom touch, I decorated the front myself!
I added a strip of red burlap for texture and a beautiful handmade fabric heart ornament. By adding these simple layers, a bag that cost pennies now looks like a luxury item from a high-end shop. Always check your craft stash before buying new—you’ll be amazed at what you can create!
Step 2: Use this No Tissue Paper Hack with a Plushie
Now for the genius part! Instead of stuffing the bag with crinkly tissue paper that just gets thrown away, use a small plushie or teddy bear. Not only does this fill the space perfectly, but it also acts as a “two-in-one” gift.
Place your main gift at the bottom of the bag, and then nestle the plushie right on top. It provides the same volume and “fluff” as tissue paper but with much more personality.
Step 3: Style the “Peek-a-Boo” Look
