Decorated Cookie Box
When it is someone’s birthday and I am not sure what to buy them, I often give a gift of homemade, straight from the oven, chocolate chunk macadamia nut cookies. I gave a cookie gift but wanted to make the box extra special so I created this decorated cookie box. This is the design I make using a plain white baker’s box. I covered the sides with one of my favorite scrapbooking paper, color-washed the top with acrylic paint to match the paper, and added flowers, ribbon, and beads to accent the design. It only took me about 15 minutes to decorate this cookie box and the result was beautiful. I covered the inside bottom of the box with parchment paper so it could be removed without leaving cookie residue in the box. A box this pretty might end up having a second life storing a keepsake on a shelf. This decorated cookie box would also make a great Mother’s Day gift!
