Autumn Leaves

Autumn inspired elements and fall tones create a beautifully decorated gift design perfect for any occasion. Scotch® Quick Dry Tacky Glue easily secures fabric leaves to the gift to add an ornamental accent. This is my latest design I created for 3M/Scotch Brand.

Materials 

• Brown kraft paper or brown paper bag
• Earth toned patterned scrapbooking paper
• Burgundy scrapbooking paper
• Raffia in natural and burgundy colors
• Three fabric autumn leaves
• Decorative autumn berries
• Scotch® Precision Scissors
• Scotch® Quick Dry Tacky Glue
• Scotch® Permanent Glue Stick
• Scotch® Double Sided Tape 

Instructions

1. Wrap a box in kraft paper using Scotch® Double Sided Tape.
   
2.  Using Scotch® Precision Scissors, cut a piece of the burgundy scrapbooking paper 1 inch smaller than the entire top of the box and cut the patterned paper 2 inches smaller than the top of the box. 
3. Apply Scotch® Craft Glue Stick to the wrong side of the scrapbooking paper and attach to the top of the box, centering each piece. Apply the larger piece first to create the layered look.
   
4. Cut strips of the natural colored raffia the length of each side of the patterned scrapbooking paper and attach to the edges with Scotch® Quick Dry Tacky Glue to frame the paper. Repeat with the burgundy raffia to frame the sides of the burgundy paper.
   
5. Glue leaves to the center of the top of the box with Scotch® Quick-Dry Tacky Glue. Attach the leaves so they are curved and lift off the box rather than lying flat. Let dry.
   
6. Apply Scotch® Quick-Dry Tacky Glue to the back of the berry stems and attach to the base of the leaves around the stems to fill in the gaps.
